Thought this story of a successful woman entrepreneur might be of interest to our aspiring female entrepreneurs.
In 1973 Anita Roddick was a 33-year old housewife looking for a way to support herself and her two children. She spotted a niche for natural-based skin and health products, and started mixing and selling her own from a small shop in England which she called the Body Shop PLC. Her shop has now grown to some 1500 outlets in 47 countries with 24 languages, selling a product every half-second to one of its 86 plus million customers. Known for her commitment to human rights, the environment, and economic development, she believes in business social responsibility. She says: "If you think you're too small to have an impact, TRY GOING TO BED WITH A MOSQUITO." (A saying worth pondering, ol susa)
