Response to The Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Lange

All the journalists present that afternoon were split into smaller groups, for a guided tour through the House of Lange. My group was led by the Lange Head of Producr Development Anthony De Haas.

Anthony is a Dutchman, but he moved to Germany once he joined Lange.

Explaining the origins of the trademark Lange big date, based on the Semper Opera House display.

A trained watchmaker, Anthony explains the intricacies of the famous Lange finish.

In 1898, Lange made a magnificent pocket watch decorated in pearls, rubies and a miniature of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Kasier in turn presented it to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

"I like the Datograph!"

The display of vintage Lange pocketwatches, more on them in another post.

The tour progressed to the second level of the Arches, where most, if not all, of the modern Lange wristwatches were on display. Close-ups of the watches to come in following posts.
