You stated: Maybe im missing the point and seeing that you feel a 450hp FE is just the best thing next to sliced bread and you can build one for 2,000.
I do think a 450 hp FE for under $2000 dollars is the next best thing to sliced bread. I own one that fits that description. Now...Excuse me if I dont see the point in running a "cookie cutter" 385. I dont see the point in investing $10,000 for 650 hp. If I was playing your game I would break down and buy a chevy! You are talking bang for the buck in a max effort arent you. No, you arent. You just want to show your top dog but you want to argue within your own perimeters. Only problem is you "F"ed up earlier. You said a 385 will beat a FE every time. I guess it will by your standards. My standards tell me that is not always so. One of my best friends just dropped 10 grand in a 700 hp 385. HE ran it one season and he will now sell it for $3,500. He cant find any takers!! What is so economical about that? Oh by the way....he got it built so cheap because he is good friends with the engine builder.
