It is hard to make very serious hP from a FE. I said that all along. You said that a 385 will beat a FE every time and is more economical. That is where I disagree. I will tell my buddy that you will buy his engine. It has has iron heads not aluminum.The reason he has so much in it is because he didnt want a piece of junk that would blow apart after a couple of passes.I also smudged on the price a little. He actualy has a little less in it than than I quoted.There is alot of money that can be hid in the grey areas such as balancer,Flywheel,carb,valve covers,intake,Dist.and so on. Oh! By the way! He had the engine built to put in his pulling truck so he could have something to compete against my FE. To answer your next question...Yes he beat me.....by 14 ft...but only once before he was forced to move up a class.Now that he is disallowed to pull in our small class he is ready to sellout.
