can you use a 428 timing cover for a 390 engine?

would they be interchangeable? i looked again at the engine and somthing stuck out to me the front plugs point tward the rear and the rear plugs point tward the front? also i didn't see if it was on the block but in between the 3-4 and the 7-8 plugs i saw these c8ae-h that is 390 right? but is that the heads? or on the engine block and if the heads does 390 heads work with 427/428? sorry for sounding not in the know but if i don't ask i won't know. tony
