Hi All,
I was thinking about building a 390 with correct date codes etc.., for my 68 GT convertible Mustang. It was originally a 390 S code with a 4 speed (before my time) but has a 302 with a cracked block now. Whats the likelihood of picking one up from a junkyard? I know I can have one built for about $2000 but don't have that kicking around. Used to rebuild some motors in another life (before kids) and now my teenage kids want to help me rebuild the car which has been parked for 20 years. I'm looking for a cheap but good quality rebuild. Any advice would be appreciated.
