Hello,
Feedback appreicated from some of you hardcore Mustang, Shelby, or FE Fans. I have a matching, newly rebuilt 1969 428CJ short block and 1969 Nascar Toploader in my ERA 427 Cobra. Both are in great shape. 6,000 miles on new/rebuilds by an FE engine specialist and a Toploader transmission specialist. Not stock internally. No expense spared for custom internal parts. I keep thinking this pair really belongs in a restore situation for an original 1969 Drag Pack Mustang, or '69 Shelby Mustang needing a matching engine/trans to be complete, and not in a replica Cobra. If it makes sense to sell these, and the right person and situation presents itself, I may build a new aluminum Shelby block for my ERA and it will take every penny from the sale of these to make it happen. The price will not be cheap for this pair, but certainly fair for someone trying to restore one of these ridiculously priced Shelby's or ultra rare Mustang Drag pack cars, or other Ford race cars from the past.
I may advertise this pair in Hemmings, but wanted to get some ideas from people here to see if it would be better to make these available for someone trying to restore a 69 Shelby or something. Still pondering it, and do not need to sell, but it is a consideration for me to explore if it makes sense. Thanks ahead for your feedback.
