How much oil consumption can be expected from bad valve stem seals,the 390 in my 65 country squire always used a bit of oil and has about 100,000 miles and has never been apart. I was revving it up the other day and noticed a bit of blue smoke comming out the pipes so I thought the valve stem seals could be bad or non existant,its using a quart of oil in about 300 miles and something neds to be done. I am going to install new seals and see if the smoke goes away before I deal with the trans leak as if the seals dont fix the problem I have a rebuilt 460 that will go in. Jeff
