I am new to the FE engines, I have worked with the windsor small blocks only.
I am working with a friend on replacing/rebuilding his 352 in his 64 galaxy.
Does anyone have any advice on which FE engine is good all around (reliable, powerful, lots of parts available)
He is looking for a streetable setup with good power and is pretty much willing to swap any big block into it.

Thanks

Elliot, I would use a 390. Reliable, good performance, very widely used. Even Jaspers sell rebuilt 390 cu. in. or as thay list them 6.4 liter. Your friend will be very happy with a 390. tony

352 with 300 hp would be nice, a 390 with 335 hp or more would be great

My reference point for the 352 is my experience as a passenger in a 1959 full size Ford wagon with a "Thunderbird" 352/300. It moved that car with ease, and would push you back into the seat when it kicked down into passing mode. It was a beast, and the car was heavy.

A 390 would be just that much more fun. My family had a '64 with the small motor, and it was a mere shadow of what that '59 was.
