Finally, got my new 428 fired up. Sounds great with 2" open headers. Break in went fine with only a small oil leak from the pan and some coolant leaking from the lower radiator hose. It never went over 175F just running in the garage for 20 minutes or so.
The idle sounds much more rude than my last 428 even with the same cam. Going from 9.3:1 to 10.5:1 compression has something to do with that. Also went from 1-3/4" to 2" headers.
Give me a month or two and I'll be back on the road.
