i'll start by saying i hope someone can give some insite on this mystery of an fe i picked up at a local salvage yard

first off, the casting numbers on the block have been ground off as well as the numbers on the cylinder heads, the intake manifold is a single 4bbl aluminum unit that like the heads and block has no casting numbers but does feature the FoMoCo logo. it is not a cross bolted or side oiler block, and all internal surfaces have been coated with that red oil run off coating. the crank, rods, and pistons are all forged and again neither the crank rods or pistons have any numbers or markings with the exception of the FoMoCo logo. pistons are flat tops and heads have been ported and polished and what looks to be machined combustion chambers

the timing set is a double roller design with both the cam and crank gear being stamped with the FoMoCo oval, about the only thing not ford on this engine is the cam and adj. rocker arms which are both isky pieces also it has a ford stamped windage tray and full sump oil pan with a rear pick up tube,

now the REALLY interesting part, on the rear of the block stamped into the bottom of the starter ear are the words "richard's racing engines #2" if anyone has any idea what any of this mean PLEASE clue me in i've been searching for oh so long and to no avail
