Putting together a 67 T-Bird w/428 that I didn't
take apart....
(Long story...still trying to explain it to the wife)
The Ground cable from the Negative Post should go
to a tapped hole on the block below the RH head....
I think.

The tapped hole is 1/2-13 and the bolt is # 20352

which is a 1/2-13 X 3/4 Hex Bolt.

The Cable end will only accomodate a 3/8 Bolt.

How did Ford accomplish getting this cable

connected to the block?

I think I'll solve that problem by buying a new compression lug for the end of the

battery cable and change the lug to fit a 1/2" bolt....

Now my other dilemma is finding the spot where the ground strap

bolts from the firewall to the back of the 428...

Unless I have my engine in backwards, I can't find a spot to bolt

the strap either behind the head or at the manifold.

Does anybody have a 428 T-Bird ( 1967) that they could check where

this ground strap connects?

Thanks.....and for future reference never buy a car that somebody else

took apart and only put the parts in coffee cans with NOTHING marked!
