The article is in Swedish
The main part of it is that there was a demonstation where a light wheeled armoured vehicle where fired on repeatedly by RPG-7's but just meters from impact a beam of fire hit the projectile (i guess this points to some sort of self forging projectile). The vehicle just got scratched in the process.
The system will be installed from our MBT's at the top to our bullet proof "Jeep's" at the botom.

Sig,

I believe it is the Amap-ADS. The CV-90s have already been tested by such a system.

how about IED? ...isnt that the biggest problem now-a-days... when was the last time a country with tanks went on another country that can afford proper RPGs?

IED? Just more armour all around. If it is big enough, it will kill the tank. But if it is big enough, you wont find many of it around because of tactical issues of installing them.

IBD is currently working on improving the AMAD-ADS beam weapon tech. They have said that is is even possibly to `zap' insurgents or enemy infantry who get just a wee bit close to the tank for comfort or who are hiding close to the tank.
