Well all china needs to do is call in the debt and get rid of the foreign reservs, even0 today they probably can get to 200b (NOTE IN DOLLARS ONLY) military spending without spending 1 extra RMB... and i am not even taking the PPP effect into account... ok i am exaggerating.. but u get the point

2007 Official budget: 60 billon USD (you can easily add another 20 billion un-counted budget like nuke, research, military industry, weapons sales etc etc), so make it 80 billion USD.
Annual increase more than 15%, after 5 years it is then 160 billion USD.
Chinese Yuan will increase at least 30% against USD, so after 5 years, 200 billion USD.
If you know that Chinese Yuan has much more powerful purchasing power than US dollar, so 300 billion USD won't be a big surprise for ya now.

If you know that Chinese Yuan has much more powerful purchasing power than US dollar, so 300 billion USD won't be a big surprise for ya now.

Great!! These yellow chin chins to our east get a 200 billion dollar defence budget while we remain content wit a measely 26 billion.

So in this tempo like in 2007 defence budget increased 17.6%, after another 5 years, i.e. in 2018 China's annual military spending will be over 400 billion USD.
A global deploying PLA would be then like walk in the park, our carrier groups are ready at same time too.
