they've been firing artillery at him for 3 days straight and only now the story was leaked. It is unclear how large the encircled rebel force is. Usually with these things they shell the forest for few days with the fire getting closer and closer to some village then the artillery lands a few rounds into the village, the civilians go all nuts and the army stops. A dozen or so rebels and civilians are killed and they call it a day. If Umarov is killed great, if not, a nice chunk of forest goes up in flames.

Just another target practise for our artillery, I bet they are still using smaller calliber towed guns, along with a few 152mm ones, no serious power from Smerch or Uragan.

He is the so called president of the "republic", the MoD has claimed to killed him many times before, and all were false reports so Im not holding my breath on this one. They are using artillery when the army there today isnt adapted for that role.
