Zvezdochka shipyard starts repairs of strategic nuclear-powered sub

The last strategic nuclear- powered submarine of the 667 (Delta) series, the Novomoskovsk, is undergoing repairs at the Zvezdochka shipyard in Severodvinsk in the Arkhangelsk region.

The submarine underwent planned maintenance at Zvezdochka in 2003.

It is undergoing medium-scale repairs now, a shipyard source told Interfax.

Zvezdochka repaired two strategic submarines, the Bryansk and Ryazan, last year. It also completed the repairs of the Nizhny Novgorod multifunctional submarine.

At present the shipyard is also repairing the Karelia submarine.
