the McMahon line is a border drawn by the ruling british raj.. the line was not recognized by the chinese government in power at the time (this is right after the fall of the qing and the establishment of the republic with the beginning of the warlord factions) ... at the time tibet was a state within a state of china, being autonomous rule of the lama class but being linked to the qing dynasty and later with the ROC (note that during this time their was disputes of control between the 13th dalai lama and the previous qing dynasty and also the succeeding republic government... the fact of the matter was that the agreement was not valid as external territorial factors was the authority of the qing or ROC which was didn't support the new border line , much of the tibetan sides agreement was after the british invasion of tibet ..... one must note that during this time the expansion of the british empire was still on going and that the mode of operation was to divide and conquer (such was much of the friction between the 13th dalai lama and the qing and ROC government at the time, where the lama class was feeling that the autonomous union was threatened by too much central government control, where the reason for more central government control was to counter moves by the british empire...note this also applies to the short lived east turkistan movement and later one year republic in xinjiang was the result of expansions from the russian empire, with outer mongolia becoming a russian empire proxy and later soviet russia proxy)

Why i dont believe in this article is because in 2009 you dont need Su-30 MKI fighters to do a recce. A simple google earth done by any civillian in India, including me can reveal far more sensitive pictures anywhere in China, including Beijing. Its far more discreet and reliable.

Besides you have satellites to do the job, i understand phuckistanis will think of the moon when i say satellites but India has the capability to build artificial satellites. And if you want tactical info about a particular area then using UAVs is much more prudent.
