with no avionics of any kind installed. Russkaya Avionika said they wont have a prototype flight computer ready until late fall. That's probably why it wasnt shown at MAKS. It's basically an empty shell right now, no engine, no radar, no flight control computer.

Well something is better than nothing.....
Anyways since the Yanks have been out with their version of 5ht gen aircraft for a while now and since we are talking about Russians here, they shouldn't be that far away
Come on my Ruskis comrades!!!

It's no F-22 clone. Sukhoi has already said it will carry 12 air to air missiles internally. The F-22 can only carry 6. It is going to be a very big air frame.

@Thunder the video you have in mind, the one I posted yesterday, is not an official video. It's just some civilian putting it together. I know you know that, but just to be 100% certain. It wouldn't be fair to bash Sukhoi over this.

"Russian designers are beggining to impress me positively."
This will be the very first Russian (not Soviet) design in terms of fighters, my French friend... Look at the recent Russian helicopters and airliner design... they are all alike with Western design. One has to wait to the Iron Curtain to fall apart to see the really new Russian design, the Russian spirit...

Hew didn't figure that F-22 aerodynamic arrangement are those of the Mig-21 yet, he got his butt fried every time he tries his luck against us, now it's your turn, ignore him he is a total ignorant.
If the US trolls are trashing mad this way it is because they know damned well their aerospace industry is in a nosedive...
Now this is going to EAT F-35 for breakfast IF they manage to dig the programe of the gutter L-M managed to drag it...
Exclusive: New JSF Assessment Affirms Program Requires Billions More, Additional Time
Oct. 22, 2009 -- A new assessment of the Joint Strike Fighter program affirms earlier findings that substantially more money and time are required for the Pentagon's largest acquisition effort, a conclusion that could pose a formidable test of Defense Secretary Robert Gates' recent support for the F-35 program and President Obama's pledge to terminate weapons with bloated price tags
What influence? Sukhoi had designs for the T-50 long before the F-22 ever took to the skies, what you have there is simply the continuing development of the project.

"NintendoGamer76)
Not slipping like the French industry, for the latest forecast Herve Morin does a good job explaining it"
Sorry SAY AGAIN?
Who designs stuf that breaks up in flight or they can't afford because their design is not good enough LOL!
"NintendoGamer76)
If that's the case then Rafale is a MUCH easier target".
Yeah sure.
Come back when you'll figure what engagement envelop is and why F-22 and Rafale supercruises and are WAY more maneuvrable than F-35.
At this rate the F-35 programe is going to be cancelled, the USA already had to sacrifice F-22 squadrons to sustain it financially, and you're going to troll and cry us trolls rivers over Rafale's and Sukhois sales.
The differeence is we dont CON people as opposed to L-M.
Who designs stuf that breaks up in flight or they can't afford because their design is not good enough LOL!
Really? Who designs a land based carrier that spends more time in dock than at sea? LOL. Not to mention it recently averted a catastrophe.
Yeah sure.
Come back when you'll figure what engagement envelop is and why F-22 and Rafale supercruises.
Yea Rafale might supercruise on paper but reality is Singapore was highly unimpressed with it's performances. Come back when Dassault doesn't BS it's customers about it's capabilities.
According to Defence Analysis and Flight Daily News, the Singapore evaluation also reportedly revealed problems with Rafale's reliability and availability, and that the aircraft failed to demonstrate claimed radar performance or its claimed ability to supercruise. Singapore was also reportedly unimpressed by Rafale's much vaunted "Omni role" capability. "Show us, properly" was said to have been the reaction, according to Defence Analysis.

Sure, we can talk when Dassault secures a sale for Rafale. Until then, let's not mention cancellations, the A400M is riddled with it's own share of problems.
"Yaguarete_AR)
they are all alike with Western design."
If you start learning aircraft design and aerodynamics you will figure that there are known solutions which are working together or not, these are called arrangements.
To an extend, it doesn't matter if the design is Russian or American or French, variations that keep working aren't that many, all of them have to obbey to the same rules and at the end of the day, two computers might well come up with similar (if not identical) solutions.
Look at F-22, it is a croped tailed DELTA and the Russians designed these decades ago with Mig-21 and Sukhoi Flagons, what the US designers added to it is irrelevant.
So braging about "Russian or Chinese copying the US" is the troll's wet nicker's habit not reality, in reality most designs have already been explored by most manufacturers and most variations of them too.
As for myslef i still have to see the US coming with a non-conservative design in operation since the F-106...
Your source BOY, is a CON for FAGGOTS and fanboyz like yourself.
HERE is an article from a serious publication...
Singapore Mindef DENIED having EVER leaked any informations of this competition btw.
Look at YOU, we post proper information you only can dig shr!te links to unsubstantiated source of unknown writers of unsigned articles.
This is WHY you're such a RETARD.
"Really? Who designs a land based carrier that spends more time in dock than at sea? LOL. Not to mention it recently averted a catastrophe".
SHOW US. We're still waiting.
"Sure, we can talk when Dassault secures a sale for Rafale. Until then, let's not mention cancellations, the A400M is riddled with it's own share of problems".
Not long to wait and more postponing of F-35 commitments either...

I think thunder's comment here summarizes an issue thats recurring. Unless your the chinese, no one's really stealing anyones designs, the similarites are unintentional they're merely related through applied science of aerodynamics

Lots of nations did reverse-engineering at some point of their history depending on their immediat need.
China is now fully capable of designing and producing indigenous fighters, although i'm not sure about engines since i canot SEE the details as one would for the aircrafts.
