Hey all.I just got back for a few days leave and will answer any and all questions any one might have. Now Im in no way saying I know every thing because I would be a liar but I will try to get the answer if I cannot help you.
By the way this thread idea is thanks to Eric (Nighthawk).I promised I would make it when I came back.
This being WAFF I understand some people will try and flame as usual but lets please keep it civil and I encourage any other military personel to also take part with any experience or knowledge they can share to the members here.

Look at these and see the pattern in leopardus's flaming.
Nice to see you about a bit more often mate and especially pleased to see you getting on so well in the USMC.
I have a little question for you. I was recently reading about USMC and US Army Civil Affairs Battalions and the work they're doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the case of USMC CA Battalions, is there a higher officer to other ranks ratio than in a more regular unit. My understanding is that is the case in the US Army CA Battalions, with some apparently having over half their number as commissioned officers. Just wondering if it was the same for the USMC.

I don't have a question but I would like to wish you and your family the best and I hope you stay safe. I am not so pro war but I understand the hardships that people in your position face, and the stress that your family is going through. Once again stay safe my friend.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Have you ever used an M4 carbine? is it better compared to M-16 in combat?
you must have been in operation during the night..so i wanna ask, what is the
biggest impact to a military forces if they dont issue night vision googles
to thier personnel..?
Dear God Praise Be Upon You for All The goodness you Bring in This world,
Mercy me dear god, and Mercy to my enemy, open thier heart to embrace this religion of yours..
give lights to the believers and give nothing to the none, let them burn in hell for thier ignorance, let them burn for thier defiant,
dear god calm my mind and ease my soul..
let me use this rifle to make my enemy's head a hole...
forgive me for my cruelity and punish me for my ignorance...

Eric I would say that both are stressed we always have to qualify with our service rifle once a year and have alot and I mean alot of shoots in between that.Individual tactics we literally perform on a daily basis so we won't get each other killed.Good question.
Shujakhan I just got back from Norway for cold weather training and I'm in the East Coast.I was at an Army base for training in Fort Drum.
Thunder we usually have platoons with that nickname but I will ask around and see what I can dig up.Also thanks Thunder and koodos on the Rafale sales on the market to Brazil.
Jason buddy they have mostly enlisted but also alot of commissioned officers when compared to other Battalions. Some of the commissioned officers are also Navy.Good question and interesting fact you picked up on the Army.

.Altough I have not experienced combat yet from our training exercises I would say the M-4 carbine is ALOT better then the A4 especially in Urban situations. But all of our NCO's and Officers would have an M-4.It is really compact and lighter then the A4 but you will rarely find it amongst the enlisted unless they are lucky enough to get one.
As for the biggest impact for Military that do not standard issue nvg's is simple...They cannot fight at night.Atleast not with any type of cohesion or control.During a training evolution we used our NVG's extensively.I had to take them off to switch out the batteries and it was pitch black. When I turned them back on I could see some of our NCO's playing the enemy all over the place. It is definately a distinct advantage which is why we always train to hit high value targets at night for the simple reason is we can see them and they can't see us.

I liked the K-2 better, of course I'm comparing it to the old-skool M16A1 of mine.
The front and rear ring sight on the K-2 was easier to aim with than using the sight pin on the M16A1.
It's a very accurate rifle, and very rugged too. Durability wise, I think it definitely surpasses the M-16, the tradeoff being that it's a lot bulkier. That extra couple of pounds becomes a huge burden when you're on a long march, and in this aspect alone I loved my misfiring M16 more than the K2
The K-2 uses a gas-piston system like the AK, and a durable frame (except the folding stock, it has a tendency to break from what I hear) so jamming and malfunctions are not big issues, but a couple of guys I was training with did have their rifle jam. But that's probably because the rifles we got were probably one of the 20 year old, first production K2s, that got handed down to the training regiments from frontline units due to age.
i taught it was an elite out fit that only quality people joined..... hmmm
just to be sure is it the USMC or Philpines marines corps u have joined?

Hello WAFF members sorry I was away for a while and just got back on the net.
Ok lets start shall we.
StrikeForce.Once you are in boot camp you are given knowledge which are different manuals that cover most every weapon system. The main one we use is the Guide book for Marines.I have a copy around some where I will get you more info on that.
By the five p's? Do you mean weapon safety rules.
---
Jason thank you and glad to see you still on.
--
Nighthawk I'm going to be honest. Most of my NCO's have been and trained with darn near every Military short of Iran,Belarus,Libya,Cuba,Syria and a few others. Most of there impressions on other militaries is that they are not as good as the Marine Corp besides a few namely the British Royal Marines and the French Foreign Legion.
----
Irkut no I have not and we always joke about that commercial ironicly.
--
Joein that is a negative altough I hope to go. (Heard it's pretty wild)
--
Elvis Columbia is not a country do you mean the District of Columbia?

I'm well aware of it, but i thought you'd know off the top of your head like soldiers would. It's drilled into us since day 1, and required to know when going to promotion boards.

Nope, the 5 P's to prevent failure. Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance, a good saying we have in the Army
Btw, i believe the other guy was talking about Columbia in S. America.
Dude, post some pics in the Soldiers forum. I think me, NG and one other dude are the only Combat Arms to post pics.. the rest have been a bunch of pencil pushers (no offense to the pencil pushers.. I'm sure it can be just as strenuous as Combat Arms trades... with the "deadlines" and all :p )

Pathankot Strike
8 F-86Fs of No 19 Squadron led by Squadron Leader Sajjad Haider struck Pathankot airfield. With carefully positioned dives and selecting each individual aircraft in their protected pens for their strafing attacks, the strike elements completed a textbook operation against Pathankot. Wing Commander M G Tawab, flying one of the two Sabres as tied escorts overhead, counted 14 wrecks burning on the airfield. Among the aircraft destroyed on the ground were nearly all of the IAFs Soviet-supplied Mig-21s till then received, none of which were seen again during the War.
Holy crap whats up with this dude lol? I liked the old paki bashing version of patagonian warrior better!
On topic- Have you or anyone you know trained with someone from the Indian armed forcs? Opinions?
