Unfortunately every pic we have has been "pre-approved", and Pilot says that they have also been modified but here are some of them. The pics are from various stages of trials.

The great size of Russian submarines is because they use two nuclear generators or because they use more space for the crew to stay longer under water?

The double reactor design takes alot of space yes, but not all russian subs use two reactors. The double hull designs on most subs is what makes them so damn big.

Russian subs are notorious for not patrolling long.

Only the Typhoons are overly big, buts thats because they were designed to stay under the polar ice cap for extended periods of time, they have saunas, pools, exercise room and a proper canteen. You don't get that in normal submarines.

The other Russian subs are only bigger because they pack more weapons, Akulas have 8-10 Torpedo tubes, and 4 of them are the extra large 650mm tubes, they also carry very large load of weapons. Oscars are big because they carry 24 Granits!!

That appears to be a very large submarine; however, when it appears in the forefront against the background of that Typhoon class sub, it looks very small.

Is it just me or does that old man in the first pic look like he's taking a whizz on the sail?
