To pay the poor bankrupt Spanish Navy a visit, and after that off to annoy the French and Italians.

So now its the Kuz + the Chabanenko + the Mudry and the usual tugs and oilers. Apparently, the Neutrashimy was there too up until the fleet hit Scotland when it was replaced by the Mudry. Once in the Med they should meet up with some ships from the Black Sea Fleet -- probably the frigate Ladny which sailed out on December 4th and should be somewhere close to Gibraltor right now. Not a bad little escort fleet, but still missing a top tier air defense platform. Sad they havent sailed a Slava class.

Russia is power doomed to fail.
I don't tell this because I've a problem with them; but so would be rational people's view of the matter.

Each year 1 million Russian youth are told to leave Russia for West and the rest of the population is alcoholic.

In the middle-long run Russia will even have serious problems for the simple check out of its large borders.

Russia can't be an offensive power like it was the case 40 years ago.
Russia is defensive.

It is because, as I heard, China has some business in south-east Asia...

Will that Russian fleet come closer to Syria and protect Russian interests in region?

The battle group has arrived in Ceuta Spain. The Kuz is too big to dock in Ceuta but the Yaroslav Mudry and the Chabanenko have come into port to give the locals a chance to tour the ships.
