France's Mirage and Saudi's F-15 collide in midair, crash in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. AFP/File, Stephan Agostini
Two fighters crashed Saturday at noon in northern Saudi Arabia, following a mid-air collision.

During a joint training exercise simulating an air combat, a Mirage fighter jet belonging to the French armed forces collided with an F-15 aircraft of the Saudi army, said an official from the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

Accident has occurred in the skies of Tabuk.

All thre pilots, a Saudi and two French, managed to catapult and landed safely and unharmed. They were evacuated to the Northern Command Center, the official said, adding that an investigation was opened.

The routine exercise between the Royal Saudi Air Force and the French Air Force is going on as scheduled.
