As a soldier, would you kill a surrendering soldier to avenge your fallen friend?

Let's say you were a soldier and you just lost a fellow compatriot in a battle against the enemy, would you out of hate and vengeance kill the next soldier that surrenders to you????

For me it would depend on the person I lost, if he was a good man and my enemy was scum then not only would I shoot the surrendering soldiers but exterminate the next village.


People see being nice to others as a weakness or maybe I'm just too nice to say stfu.
