In the US the politicians kiss babies and talk tax cuts. In Russia they kiss missiles and talk megatons. Today Medvedev oversaw the induction ceremony of 6 new Topol-M's and the creation of a new missile regiment in the Saratov.

At the same time Putin toured the Tamansky Brigade, what's left of the famed Tamanskaya motorized rifle division where he met with most of the Genshtab to woo them into not backing the opposition.

Most interesting bit here is he got to see the new Arbalet long distance parachutes for Spetsnaz insertions -- copied from an Israeli design. He also got to play with one of the new Iveco LMV's and see the Kamaz and Ural Typhoon contenders, but he's seen these before.
