And tomorrow they play at sinking an imaginary US carrier battle group with their Chinese comrades. Mao and Stalin would be proud that this spirit of socialist brotherhood continues to pervade between the two great communist states.

Nice pictures.

Also, pretty sure the chingeloos will send their tallest sailors to this exercise. So the celestial pride isn't dented in front of the tall Russkies. [linked image]

Nice pictures ......... but

though I'm loath to normally criticize the uniforms of other nations but ....

the Russian headgear is, well, atrocious. The petty officer cover looks like it belongs in the Pirates of Penzance.

His control over his person, his property, his movements, his business, his desires should be restrained only so far as the public welfare imperatively demands. The world is in more danger of being governed too much than too little.

It is the teaching of all history that liberty can only be preserved in small areas. Local self-government is, therefore, indispensable to liberty. A centralized and distant bureaucracy is the worst of all tyranny.

Taxation can justly be levied for no purpose other than to provide revenue for the support of the government. To tax one person, class or section to provide revenue for the benefit of another is none the less robbery because done under the form of law and called taxation."

Do you think the Chinese will have enough time to copy that Slava class ship before it leaves port?
