When I was watching the Favre introduction, I noticed a few things. Aside from the sales market being flooded for #4 jerseys, (which really means nothing) ....
- He honestly looked like a scarred and nervous little boy, not the relaxed professional future HOF'er like when he sat in front of the GB Banner.
- When he finally DID get to speak, he started off by saying how for a long time he was a Packer and guessed he would always BE a Packer. That was a real bad move around this neck of the woods. Some Jets fans are already questioning his motives, saying he only came here because they were the only team GB would allow him to go to, NOT because he WANTED to play for them. He talked about Green Bay and mentioned having 'problems and issues' numerous times. So some fans are saying that he's just using the Jets to get even with GB. Not because he really wants to play and win.
- He was talking to the media / sports-press like he was still in Green Bay. Bad move ... he's gonna need to change his demeanor. He's been used to being the big fish in a small pond too long. NYC will eat him alive if he gives it half a chance.
Like I said before, he's been playing in the WCO which is a concept-based system for all these years. It's second nature to him. But if he can't transition and get the Jets numerical-based offensive system and start winning right away, he's really going to be in for it.
If they get to 1-4, they'll be booing and bashing him at every turn. Which is something Brett Favre is not used to.
The NYC Jets fans don't care WHAT Brett Favre has done in the past ... it's all about what he can do for THEM ... and NOW.
I wish him luck. I'd hate to see him go out as a 'has-been'.
