It was officially announced on the NFL channel.

Williams is getting 18 million in guaranteed money over the first three years of the contract or something. The whole deal is 6 yr for $38 million or something.

The Pack gets the Browns 2nd round pick.

I was just thinking .... considering that that the Browns run a 3 man front, does anyone really think Williams going to make any kind of an impact for them? Because I sure don't see it happening!

TT wiped what, $6M? off the books for a guy who normally needed help to make an impact and who (IMO) wasn't seriously outstanding enough to be called a franchise player.

Now that I see what TT had in mind, my faith is restored!

And now after the deal with Bengals has fallen through, the Browns have ALSO done a deal for the Lions' NT Shuan Rogers.

I have to wonder what Williams is thinking right now? LOL

Lions got Cleveland's 3rd round pick and a player (CB Bodden) as opposed to the earlier proposed deal with the Bengals for a 3rd and 5th pick.

I see Faneca has been gone with the Jets for what's reported to be a 4yr, $32M deal which includes somewhere around $23M in guarantees. So he's off the FA market of available OGs.

OH ... and after finally being released ... Javon Walker is still out there if anyone is interested! LMAO

So here we are ... over a month before the draft ... and sitting at $24M under the $116M (?) cap

Eagles CB Lito Sheppard might start looking to be traded after they signed Asante Samuel and made him the highest paid CB in the league. And the rumor is that he's going to take Samuel's #1 spot.

Sheppard signed a 5yr, $25M extension in 2004 and is scheduled to make $2M in base salary in 2008. I know he's missed games in the past from injuries, but I think he would be worth paying $2M just for experienced CB depth. It would depend on what the Eagles wanted in return. I'm sure Reid doesn't want another TO type situation happening in his locker-room.

Have a good one

Yeah, the Browns just signed Rodgers after trading a 3rd round pick for him - they now have no picks in this years draft until the 4th round...do they think they are that close to a championship that they are willing to sacrifice their future like that?

Questionable moves at best IMO!

They also just signed Stallworth to a huge 7 yr deal.

It is these types of big money FA moves that end up haunting franchises for years to come...not to mention sacrificing an entire draft?

I like TT's strategy much better - we can score at least 4 more quality player sin this year's draft, and he can sign some mid-level but good FAs for reasonable contracts to add veterans and role players that fit into the system and aren't huge locker room problems because of their egos!
