Florence 13" Clock

by

Hi! I have a Florence Ceramics 13" clock, Sessions movements. It's greenish and ornate, but with no applied flowers or the like. It's in wonderful, working, condition. But I can't find a thing out about this clock. I don't have a Florence Ceramics Book. Don't know if it's even in it. Does anyone have any info on these clocks? Are they rare? Are they sought after? Any tidbit of info would greatly be appreciated. Many thanks. Laura

Oriental Figurine Bookends--Is this a Florence Mark?

by

Howdy,

Can anyone out there help me to identify the maker of these two vintage ceramic oriental figurine bookends? They look like Florence to me, but I'm not familiar with the makers mark on the bottom which clearly reads '49 and has a strange "comb" shaped logo.

Please view photos at: http://www.dhc.net/~pmhack/ebay/orientb/orientb.html

Thanks, I very much appreciate your help!

Peter

TESS

by

Hi, I recently found a Florence Ceramic figurine named "Tess" at a yard sale. She is so pretty. She has on a light blue dress, with gold trim and she is holding a nosegay in her right hand. She has brown hair, and is wearing a hat with a gold bow on top. Can anyone tell me about her? Thank you.

Girl with wooden shoes?

by

My mother-in-law is looking for what she believes to be a Florence Ceramics figurine of a Dutch girl with wooden shoes. If you know of such a pattern or have one of these, I would be interested in buying one or finding one. Does anyone know if there was ever a series of Florence figurines depicting international costumes?

Florence Figurine with Wooden Shoes

by

Believe this to be Renee or Suzette by Florence and listed in the collector book. You can also find them from time to time on EBay.

Winton Work for Florence

by

A 1999 interview with Don Winton indicated that his work was limited to the company's beautiful bird figurines (bluebirds, mockingbirds, Baltimore orioles, a swan planter, cardinal, and a few others) as well as the several designs for a dog bank that was produced by Florence Ceramics as a premium item for Ford Motors.

INFO ON Marie Antoinette and Louis the XVI

by

Hi, these are wonderful CA Pottery Florence Ceramic Figures, taller and larger than most. High lace details and little flower detail.

Value depends exculsively on condition ie: pieces of broken lace and or fingers. If all fingers are there small lace loss is not a big deal.

Two versions of Marie, one she holds a gold fan, one she holds a decorative fan. Value depends on which.

Marie with decorative fan just sold on EBAY for $80. Louis has sold on EBay in various forms but with all fingers for $35 - $80 - you can BUY one on Ruby Lane for $75 - so together depending on condition value varies. I just bought a good pair on EBay with small lace loss for under $70 but seller was a jerk and did not package well and Louis lost a finger (or he was misrepresented)

If you have a digital camera take some pics and send to me, I will give you my opinion.

Here is some history, cut and paste this link.

Have the figurine Carmen by Florence. Has a small piece of lace work missing on the back side. Otherwise perfect. Is she worth anything?

your Carmen

by Marion

Hi there,
you probably already learned this, but if this is truly Carmen by Florence Ceramics, she could be worth quite a bit-- if the damage is not extensive. Do you have any of the reference books on Florence Ceramics?
