JeanRichard Watches Joins American Le Mans Series in New Sponsorship and Awards Program ALMS

BRASELTON, GA. - JeanRichard watches, a collection of fine SWISS timepieces intended for a clientele seeking original and exclusive products, has joined the American Le Mans Series in a new sponsorship and awards program that will begin with the 52nd annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the opening event of the 2004 season Mar. 17-20.

JeanRichard will present watches to the winning drivers in all four classes of the American Le Mans Series in the Sebring event, America's oldest and most prestigious professional sports car race. In addition, watches will be presented to the winning drivers in Chevy presents Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, a 1,000-mile endurance event that will be held Sept. 25.

JeanRichard will also present watches to the championship drivers and team owners for the 2004 American Le Mans Series season, with the presentations to be made at the series awards banquet.

As another aspect of the sponsorship agreement, JeanRichard will be designated as the Official Watch and Timing Sponsor of the American Le Mans Series. JeanRichard will also be a sponsor of the American Le Mans Series Radio Web, and there will be a JeanRichard logoed clock at the start/finish line for all American Le Mans Series races to track the elapsed time during the event.

"We are very excited to begin a long term partnership with the American Le Mans Series," said Ronald Jackson, President of JeanRichard Watches North America. "I am confident that the passions and expertise we bring to fine Swiss watch making will be appreciated by the winning drivers and fans alike."

"We enthusiastically welcome the participation of JeanRichard in the American Le Mans Series," said Scott Atherton, President and CEO of the ALMS. "The upscale demographics of our audience are a perfect fit with JeanRichard's clientele. We look forward to a long and mutually-beneficial relationship."

About JeanRichard

The JeanRichard brand, which dates back to the end of the 17th century, is continuing its steady development and is gradually establishing itself in the world's principal international markets. The brand is sold from almost 300 points of sale selected to match the specific nature of the company's models which are distributed over approximately 20 markets.

The Sowind Group brings together the brand names of Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard, both of which are based in Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. After moving into Italy and Japan, the brands were established in North America with the opening of Tradema of America in February, 2000.

About the American Le Mans Series

The American Le Mans Series is a series of North American sports car races based on the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's most famous endurance race. American Le Mans Series races feature four classes of race cars competing for class wins and the overall win, with the fields including many of the same drivers and cars that compete at Le Mans. The series holds events at many of North America's premier permanent road racing facilities. The series motto is "For the Fans" and all events feature driver autograph sessions and open paddocks. All events are on television in the United States. Well-known automotive brand names such as Audi, BMW, Corvette, Dodge, Ferrari, Lamborghini, MG, Nissan, Panoz, Porsche and Saleen are represented on the series. The series, which has its headquarters in Braselton, Ga., was founded in 1999 by entrepreneur Don Panoz and is sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

08/08/04 - Ferrari Challenge in Southern California

August 17 2004, 1:11 PM

G'day,

Mr. Ron Jackson, President of GP NA, was so nice to share some pictured impressions of the very recent Ferrari Challenge Rally which took place August 8-11, 2004 in Southern California.

GP is a main sponsor of the race series and supports the very successfull Ferrari 360GT; for our recent coverage, please see our GP Reference Pages.

The Ferrari Challenge Rally apparently was a great event and it´s always a great view to see the logo of our cherished brand on one of these fantastic cars. It seems everyone enjoyed themselves a lot, so here we go with the pictorial:

Thank you a lot for sharing the pictures and impressions, Ron!

Greetings from germany,

Peter

July 7: World premiere - first official picture of the Tourbillon Magistral

November 16 2003, 10:07 PM

Dear GP-enthusiasts,

all of you following the coverage of the SIHH 2003 show certainly noticed the most impressive GP Tourbillon Magistral

which was presented in Geneva as a prototype.

I´m proud and happy to shed a little more light on this new marvel:

The Vintage 1945 XXL is equipped with a manual wind tourbillon movement. Indications are a retrograde date, a power reserve and a "sonnerie en passant", a hour striker which is a minute repetition as well.
The Tourbillon Magistral will be available in yellow, red or white gold as well as platinum.
Some further specs:

- power reserve 110 hours (!!!)
- sapphire crystal both for front and back
- water resistant up to 30 m
- case measurements 36 x 37 mm

And here we go:

This watch is scheduled to be available in november 2003; as usual, limited capacities and classic "atelier" methods of manufacturing (one watchmaker assembles one complete watch, by hand of course) will lead to limited output.
Therefore, only few Tourbillon Magistral will leave the ateliers in La Chaux-De-Fonds each year with a significant time to wait until delivery.

Hope you enjoy this exclusive preview (and remember, you´ve seen it on ThePuristS.com first )

Greetings from germany,

Peter

January 2004: The Haute Horlogerie department is moving...

February 3 2004, 10:42 AM

and here are probably the first pictures of the new premises:

To compare, here´s a picture of the location 10 days ago:

As you easily see, the new premises are much more comfortable, bright and offer a lot more space for each watchmaker, as well as brand new work benches that were crafted especially for the room.

The Haute Horlogerie department is still located in the main building of GP at 1 Place Girard, but now moved from the roof to the floor. Here you can see the building; the old Haute Horlogerie workshops were located under the roof (see the windows) and the new workshops are located in the base of the right building:

With the moving of the Haute Horlogerie department, almost all departments are now moved to their new premises in the old building (that is pictured above) and the "new" bulding (which is actually much older, but was recently restored) that is covered in this post.

Greetings from germany,

Peter
