pictured impressions by FJ Benjamin (many, large)

August 31 2004, 10:06 PM

Dear enthusiasts,

we´re truly lucky and honoured!!

Probably all Singapore enthusiasts, at least those who participated earlier GP events in Singapore, are well aware of the incredible Sam Benjamin and the most charming and wonderful Mrs. Cheryl Wee.
Both represent FJ Benjamin, which happens to be the regional GP Agent for Singapore as well as a number of other countries in Asia and they are doing a great job to bring the watches, the informations and (more important) the fun to all GP enthusiasts.
And they succeed admirably in doing so; it is a wonderful team (and we will have a special "Inside GP" with some more insights soon).

Here are some impressions of the TEMPUS exhibition, submitted by Cheryl.
I´m glad (and, as a fan, a bit proud) there´s obviously a great interest in GP and their watches. And there was so much to see - chances to encounter the vintage tourbillons other than in the GP Museum are pretty rare...

So here we go:

The GP booth

GP fans enjoy the pieces

even more joy

joy from every perspective

Mr. Willy Schweizer: historian, curator of the GP Museum and technical director of Girard-Perregaux (and a great guy!)

What it is all about - the pieces

two highlights of the current GP collection (anyone to guess which ones?)

Cheryl Wee (FJB), Janet Soh (FJB), Vista Chia (THG Singapore), Dimitri Aubert (Girard-Perregaux Suisse), Sam Benjamin (FJB), Daniel Khoo (THG Malaysia)

Again, my heartfelt thanks for the impressions and pictures of a truly stunning event and a great presentation of GP!

Greetings from germany,

Peter

GP pictures from the TEMPUS

August 31 2004, 10:11 PM

Hello GP fans,

IGOTT is over and GP booth was the booth that I spent the most time in. They have been very, very kind as to show me the museum pieces in person!!!! I spent at least ten minutes with "Esmeralda". These pieces has never left the museum before! Seeing them in person was joyful! I was in awe. Here are some pictures I took of the museum pieces. Enjoy!

Booklet-shaped Pendant watch, Circa. 1860.
Case in yellow gold engraved and decorated with blue enamel. White enamel dial protected by a grid bearing a polychrome medalion. Double wallet for pictures inside.

Lepine Pocketwatch ni sterling silver, Circa 1860.
White enamel dial showing five different local times. This watch dates back before the concept of the universal time coordination, which was adopted worldwide at the end of the 19th century.

Unfortunately I can only post 2 right now as I think I have maxed out on my kb allowance in the temporary files. But more pics when I can.

Regards,
Aseanto Oudang "Azean"
