Spotlight on Opera Auditions: Gianni Schicchi

Spotlight on Opera, the summer workshop I direct at St. Edward's University in Austin, is entering its third year.



Dates: July 20 - August 9 (please note that dates have changed)

MWF 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Sat 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

(Lessons and coachings may be scheduled outside of the above times)

Please note that, while out of town students are welcome, no housing or transportation is provided.

Program cost: $300 (yes, three hundred). Includes one weekly half hour voice lesson and one weekly half hour coaching, in addition to masterclasses, rehearsals, and performances.



Performances: July 25, August 1, 8, 9



Repertoire:

Gianni Schicchi, fully staged in English with piano

(All roles open; covers will also be cast)

Opera Scenes TBA based on interests and abilities of participants

Staged Art Song project





Auditions TBA at St. Edward's in Austin. Out-of-towners who can meet up with me on one of my travels (New York, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Indianapolis between now and May) may be able to arrange to sing for me there.



Requirements: resume, bio, headshot, repertoire list. Sing two arias, one of which must be in a foreign language and one of which may be in English; and one or two art songs.
