Here's who I used to use.

Anastasia Markina. She's fantastic and I think she still lives up there. She can play ANYTHING and she's an amazing accompanist. The opera used to use her as a repetiteur and for companies that came in to audition a lot.

Willem Van Schalkwyk was my accompanist in DFW for about two years, and I think he's pretty stellar also. He's more pianist than accompanist but he's still really good, knows singer rep well, speaks several languages and usually had more availability that Nastia. Last I saw him, he was starting work on his doctorate, but that was in 2006, so he might be done or ABD by now. I've lost touch so I don't know, and he doesn't really communicate by email.

Natasha Sukhina is also in the area and very accomplished. I've never used her, but I've heard her play plenty, and she can sightread very well. She's played a ton for the singers there.

This makes me sad...I miss all the amazing accompanists that UNT had while I was there. NOBODY at my current school plays like ANY of these guys do!

Check with Jeff Snider. He should have contact info for most of these people, and he could maybe give you some info for some of the newer ones. But these were three of the best while I was there, and I would use any one of them again in a heartbeat!!

I also recommend looking at the DFW NATS website:

http://www.dfwnats.org/page5.html

There are people listed there. If you want to give me info suitable for a Facebook "note", most of the good pianists are my "Facebook friends".

If that doesn't work, drop me a line!
