Hi all,
yesterday morning I paid a visit to the Dutch Connie while work was in progress to take off the props. Have updated my website ref Connie's Comeback with some photos I made that day.

The Dutch Connie

This is a bit worrying about the propellors-see what Ruud says on his website.

If they were leased and are now having to be returned to the owner, where are Aviodome going to find replacements, though I should think they've thought this through in advance and already have a solution, but I would like a bit of reassurance.

Props nightmare

It seems that the Curtiss propellors for the Connie are very difficult to obtain and thus very very valuable in good working (airworthy) order.

On old photos of Constellations you can notice a different type of prop (Hamilton?). Is this prop still available (recovery on wrecks) and maybe easier to overhaul than the electric Curtiss model?

Any comments or suggestions...

Fernand

Props for Connie.

If certain Connies were approved with Ham.Standard props,I would expect them to be a viable replacement for the Curtiss props. Ham.Standards have proven over the years to be more dependable and easier to maintain as well as being easier to find.

From what I have been told, probably all TWA connies had Hamilton props.
