There some things i cant figure out of,
When is the real beginning of Dianes dream?
-From the Carcrash, or the airport?
Why do we see the scene with the 2 police officers holding some jewlry in evidence, it looks like Rita's / Camillas ear-ring! (before the crash Rita / Camilla has both ear-rings, and after she is missing one!) - notice that?
Are the officers part of her dream to?
And why do we see the Hit-man early in the film talking with one of the surviving car crashers, and afterwords also killing for the blackbook, and a scene after that, HIM LOOKING FOR A GIRL WITH DARK HAIR ?
Is this really part of Dianes dream? -She is probebly dreaming some parts which is real to? Why would Lynch want us too see that?
The hit-man also brings the blackbook with him to the diner in the end, where Diane discussed the assassination on Camilla / Rita. - notice that? i know this part is reality thou. But did the hit man really kill for that blackbook? Or has Diane just made some extra fantasy for that to?
Im really confuzed on which of those parts are really dreams and what is reality? If it's all a dream... the dream is from the total beginning of the film, and til Rita drops the blue box? Right?

There are objects and people that appear in both dream and reality. The reality portion starts after the mc in the theater keeps referring to illusion and to wake up. She starts to really wake up to reality when she starts shaking.
The car crash has to be both dream and reality with two different outcomes. In the dream it is Diane's way of rationalizing how camilla might survive the hit she has put on her and in reality she really died. I think the amnesia was a way for Diane to imagine how Camilla survived and she might be able to start fresh with Camilla. In the dream the roles are reversed. In reality Diane was dependent on Camilla and in the dream it was the other way around.

I think it has to be a combination of reality and dream. Camilla died and Rita survived. Still not fully sure.

There are many things/people that make an appearance in both reality and dreams. The bag of money with a blue key appear in both dream and reality. The dream version is just a mystery for Betty and Rita to figure out. In reality it is the money she paid the hitman in the diner to kill Camilla. As for the black book, I am not sure I know what it is supposed to be but I think it does appear in both dream and reality.
My head hurts after trying to think this through. I think the simplest way to look at it is:
Diane is dreaming about how she wanted things to turn out. Her dream contains both real people and objects that symbolize something. She starts to wake from her dream and tries to prevent herself waking but reality starts to come back quicker and quicker. She is awake from her dream when her neighbor comes to get her box and the "regular" blue key is on the table. That is how we know Camilla has been killed. Diane is having trouble dealing with the reality and tries to invoke fantasy one last time and bring up the creepy/nice grandparents one more time but she knows it is not reality and kills herself. I am answering questions you have not even asked but it is tied together on so many levels it is hard to quit.
