Omni-play basketball

by

Looking to buy Omni-play basketball with all the modules, if possible. I need at least the side-view module if anything. My original disks are dead and I have been looking for this game forever. I have the manual and stuff, but I couldn't get the rom I found on this page to work. Anyone know of a place I can purchase old commodore 64 games from?

It works fine!

by

I dont know which emulator you use, but it works fine with both Vice and CCS64 V2.0b. Maybe this is one of quite many games you must run with "TRUE DRIVE EMULATION". Go to Centsible Software site to buy old c64-games: http://www.centsible.com

Re: omni-play basketball download

This omni play basketball is a different version. This is the Magic Johnson version which is not the original omni play basketball. The original one is the one whereby u cannot "control" the players and the players will run on their own. U just control their passing and shooting.

sigh...i have tried everywhere to find that version but to no avail. Regret that I did not backup the game last time before the diskettes went mouldy. Up till now, that is still the most exciting basketball game ever to be made although the graphics and sound sucks as compared to the current game by EASports's NBA Live series.

Omni-Play Basketball

by

I really really loved that game -- I used to play it for hours on end.

I think it may have also been called SportTime Basketball at some point.

They also made a hockey game that was very similar.

If you ever find it, please come back here and let us know.

Omni-Play Basketball

by Tom

It's good to know I'm not the only one still looking for this game. I had the Amiga version and I played it for hours back on the old Amiga 1000.

Before the whole Napster/copyright infringement issue came about, you could easily download the WinUAE Amiga emulator and just about any ROMs to play on it... and there were hundreds of games available. I found the old SportTime Omni-Play Basketball end-view version and it worked fine, the graphics and the sound were exactly the same, the gameplay was great, but there was one problem that made the game unplayable. When there was a timeout and you had to select your play options (hit the boards, work outside, etc.) and substitutes, the screen was shifted down to far so that you couldn't see what you were selecting. It was a HUGE tease and I just couldn't deal with it. However, you may find it okay. It's the closest thing I found to the game.

This is back in early 2000. The websites where I used to download Amiga ROM's have all been shut down since then, or at least all my bookmarks are useless. But try the Amiga WinUAE emulator. I've never played the Commodore version but I imagine it's the same, with slightly better graphics and sound.

If anybody finds a working version of this game please come back and post something here.

c64 games need to be played with an emulator.
two of the most popular c64 emulators are ccs64 and vice.
you can download them at http://www.lemon64.com
for further details on how the emulators work, check several FAQ's on the internet.

I've got it to work on CCS64 or VICE (I don't remember which of them it was). I remember that I had some problems to start the game. Just a few days ago I read the manual of this game, and I have decided to remove this game from STADIUM 64. You are shooting at cars and motorcycles and that have nothing to do with sportgames.

How to start Street Hawk!

by

Here comes the "solution". I only tested this on WinVice1.4, but it will probably work on CCS64V2.0 too. If you press easy on the fire button on the Title Screen 1 you will come to Title Screen 2, the one with cyan coloured text including "Press The Fire Button". If you do that you will come back to Title Screen 1. What you have to do is, press the Commodore Key [LEFT CONTROL] (don't have this key as your fire button!), and you will come to another screen also including the text "Press The Fire Button". Do it and the game will start!

/Martin.

Street Hawk - What do you do?

by

I've just got the emulated version of Street Hawk for C64 and am amazed at how different it is to the classic Spectrum and Amstrad versions, (not including the crappy Speccy Crash Edition).
But what do you do?
I think you must be trying to get to the end of the racing section within the time but it's HARD!
I don't seem to have a brake button so I crash a lot.

Can anyone tell me if they have been beyond the 1st level 'The Escape'?
What are the other levels like? if any.

Cheers

I'm after an old c64 game. It was a western and you played the sheriff having to sort out the baddies. You saw the screen from the eyes of the sheriff and you could get your gun out to warn bandits off. Can't remember for the life of me what it was called. All I remember was a little kid character who ran out saying he had a secret he couldn't tell.

yes, I have no interest left on Shoot! and no time either to spend on it. And it's also to much work to do Shoot! in a similar way to Stadium64. How many shoot'em up games could there be....about 4000?

When I started to create Shoot! I had no idea that I should have over 1000 sportgames for Stadium64. I guessed in the beginning that there would be 500 sportgames....but that was a very bad guess.

THIS IS NOT A SCAM! IT DOES WORK!!!!!!!!JUST READ THE ARTICLE. A while back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of CASH within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00 plus stamps! So I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam!" But like most of us I was curious and kept reading. It said that if you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and addresses listed in the article, you could make thousands in a very short period of time. You then place your own name and address at the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article to at least 200 newsgroups. (There are about 32,000 of them out there and that's quite a large market pool). No catch, that was it. Even though the investment was a measly $6, I had three questions that needed to be answered before I could get involved in this sort of thing. 1. IS THIS REALLY LEGAL?I called a lawyer first. The lawyer was a little sceptical that I would actually make any CASH but he said it WAS LEGAL if I wanted to try it. I told him it sounded a lot like a chain letter but the details of the system (SEE BELOW) actually made it a legitimate legal business.2. IS OK WITH THE POST OFFICE OR IS IT MAIL FRAUD?I called them: and they confirmed THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! (See 18, h sections1302 NS 1341 of Postal Lottery Laws). This clarifies the program of collecting names and addresses for a mailing list. So, having these questions answered, I invested EXACTLY $7.92 ... six $1.00 bills and six 32 cent postage stamps ... and boy am I glad I did!!!Within 7 days, I started getting CASH in the mail! I was shocked ! I figured it would end soon and didn't give it another thought. But the CASH continued coming in. In my first week I made between $30. By the end of the second week I had a made a total of $1000. In the third week I had over $10,000 and it was still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000 and it's still coming in ..... It's certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps !!! SO WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE LOADS OF CASH????? For starters , make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more CASH than you thought possible by doing something so easy! Read this entire message carefully! Follow the simple directions and watch the CASH come in! It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00 (Plus postage) Here are the 3 easy steps to success:STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write down PLEASE, INCLUDE ME IN YOUR ADDRESSBOOK as well as your name, surname, addressee, signature. Now get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope (to prevent thievery). Place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. Mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses: #1) G Kraft, 66 Davis Tee Drive, Sheridan, WY 82801-6024, USA. #2) J. Bailey,102 Monoponsan Drive, Stevensville MD 21666,USA. #3) J. Masten,180 Willoughby Cannery RD, Queen Anne, MD 21657,USA. #4) Mezajevs I , Raina Street 28-3, LV4800, Madona, Latvia #5) C. O'Brien 1272 Brackenwood Cres. kingston ,Ontario, Canada, k7p 2w1 #6) Jeffry A. Neal, Jr. 705 Fairway Trails Dr, Brighton, MI 48116, USASTEP( be sure to affix the proper postage if mailing overseas or to and from the U.S and Canada)2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR Name as number 6 on the list. STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups (there are 32000 newsgroups). All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more CASH you make! Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need CASH, you can use it again, and again. DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this letter, and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer's memory. Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file or word perfect and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list. Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to go back to. Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.) Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one! .THAT'S IT!All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE CASH YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** You will begin receiving CASH from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent a PO Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.** HOW DOES IT WORK?If from the 200 postings, you receive only 5 (conservation estimate) reply, you will make $5.00If from those 5 people who replied to you make a minimum 200 postings each, and only 5 respond to each of them, each with your name writing at #5, you will get $25.Now those 25 people will make 200 postings with your name at #4 and only 5 reply to each, YOU will receive $125.Those 125 people will turn around and make a minimum of 200 postings with your name at #3 and each get 5 replies, YOU will make an additional of $625.From those 625 people make a MINIMUM 200 postings with your name at #2 and each get 5 replies , YOU will receive $3125. And still those 3125 people make the minimum postings with your name at #1 and each get 5 replies, YOU WOULD HAVE ACCOMPLISHED TO MAKE $15,625 WITH YOUR ORIGINAL INVESTMENT OF ONLY $6. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is that thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so...People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the CASH? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual internet. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. You don't need to cheat the basic idea to make the CASH!! You are using the Internet to advertise your business. What is that business? You are creating a mailing list of people who are interested in home based computer and online business and methods of generating income at home. Remember, people send you a small fee to be added to your mailing list. It is legal. what will you do with your list of thousands of names? That's up to you." So, build your mailing list, keep good accounts, declare the income and pay your taxes. By doing this you prove your business intentions. Keep an eye on the newsgroups and when the cash has stopped coming (that means your name is no longer on the list), you just take the latest posting at the newsgroups, send another $6.00 to the names stated on the list, make your corrections (put your name at #6) and start posting again. SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? GOOD LUCK!!!
