Painting antenna

I have to install a fairly ugly 80" antnna to pick up my OTA DTV and HDTV. I want to spray paint it a dark flat color so it blends in as best possible. Can I do this or will it impair the antenna's ability to receive a signal?

It is OK. Dielectrics have an effect, but the paint layer is too thin for it to be significant.
