Just as I was ordering some special antennas I noticed two antennas that possibly could help. They are as follows the MU-48-4 which is a 48 element quad stack. The gain for this antenna is 20db. and front to back ratio is 27 db. front to side ratio is 18 db. If you need more antenna then they have an antenna that is called the quad of quads. This beauty is 16 yagis 192 elements. The gain is 26db. front to back ratio is 27db and front to side ratio is 18db. Truly these antennas are for the serious installer and possibly the wealthly as well. JOHN L.

These antennas show on a lot of distributor's "line cards." You can see ‘em at:
http://www.simplicitytool.com/mu_series_uhf_quad_array.htm

But be careful; these are “cut to channel” (or at least a narrow range of about 5 channels) and are not suitable for general use. I guess if you’ve got one problem station …

I can’t tell if these are designed properly, but if they are they will have very high gain for about 5 channels and medium gain for about ten channels below that. (The response would resemble the blue Yagi plot in the top graph on http://www.hdtvprimer.com/ANTENNAS/comparing.html but with a different gain scale.)

I still believe that it is smarter to gang 8-bays instead of Yagis. I have four CM4228s, and I received four 7777s in the mail today. I hope to have a 32-bay running in a week or two. If I am successful I will have a wideband antenna that has 50 channels with gain above 20 dBi.

If 20 to 21db. of gain is needed try the Channel Master 4251. This is the higest gain single aerial I have ever installed. When installing in the Chicago area years ago we used these antennas to receive Rockford and South Bend for the Bear games blacked out on CBS 2 Chicago. It is just a thought.

The CM 4251 is not in production. Do you know anybody who has any?

The only catalog I have from C/M is the 50th. anniversary edition 3. Trying to get a response from C/M is non productive. They do not respond to my e-mails. I do not know of a dealer who has them here in Indiana but I do have some contacts in Mo. and Illinois. At one time back in the over the air only day's a 12 bow tie antenna was marketed. I still have a picture of it in a catalog. I figure this aerial had at least 15db. of gain. It would be neat if Channel Master re-created this antenna.
