Does anyone know if setting the Receiver on top of the RPTV will effect the picture?

I've had both my hd decoder and av reciever on mine before i got a proper equipment rack and never experienced any negative effects.

I had all wiring for each item well separated though, but that advice is good for any combination of components.

The only thing in the top half of an RPTV is a flat mirror. The only issue is whether the weight of the STBs will deform the RPTV case over time.

I have my DVD player and Zenith STB stacked on one end of the tv. I have a rather large Cambridge center channel speaker in the middle and a couple ceramic figures on the other end. My stereo rack is at the right side of the tv. I also have all my wires, cables, phone lines, etc. all going every which way and tangled among each other - a spider web! I tried having everything neat and separated until I noticed there was no difference whatsoever in sound or picture quality. Other than very heavy objects, I just put things and wires where I want (or where they may fall) and leave it at that. If any of this should some day cause a problem it will give me a good excuse to upgrade.

I have my receiver and DVD sitting on top of my TV. It is also nearly impossible to keep all of the wires/cables seperated. I gave up trying.
