Noticed while adjusting convergence that the blue lines were twice as wide as the red or green. This leads to slightly fuzzy text on my Mitsubishi 65 inch HDTV set. Mitsubishi says that all rear projection sets are built this way. Can anyone confirm this, and if it's true, why?

This is as common as tires.

The why has to do with selling TV's to the uneducated masses. Bright, white and colorful are the keys and to prevent other problems the eaisiest way to achieve this is defocus the blue os you do not overdrive it.

The good news is this can be removed or reduced depending on the product.

Have you considered an ISF calibration? This is what is done to every TV before being reviewed.
