We had 2 new Samsung Model HLN437W and they both came up with a message "The internal temperature was to high, the system has been shut down to avoid damage to the hardware"... "To restart your system, unplug it and plug it in again". We did and the same message still appeared on the screen. The message came on instantly when we turned on the set. It was a very hot day but give me a break!! We learned and won't get a third set. Did anyone have the same problem?

I have had this set for a little over a month and have not had any promlens. I love this set and thought it had a better picture than everthing I saw out there. Mine is on a stand with adequate ventalation. Maybe your ventalation is not that good? It gets pretty hot bath there after a few hours of using but not to the extent you mention.

It is time to call service. I could swear I just read about this being a common failure and there is some mod for it. Again, call service.

They said I was the first person that they heard from that had this problem (which I find hard to believe).

They said the unit might be to close to the wall, when in fact, I hadn't finished connecting the sound system and it was 2 feet from the wall.

I feel it might be a bad component problem.

I'm thinking of going to plasma now.

It is a defect in the set as it was not on when the message came up..correct? Heat doesn't begin untill the set has been on for a few minutes. Stay with the DLP fix as the Plasma's are not HDTV (1080). Approx. 762 lines at best that I have seen, at twice the price..

I have the 50" DLP and have it framed in my wall with no vents and never had a problem. As for being a hot day out... I live in Arizona. I love my Sammy!!!
