A couple years ago FOX decided that 480p-widescreen was the way of the future, and they began equipping for that. A couple months ago they admitted this was a mistake, and announced that they would go to 720p. They hope to have their prime-time lineup mostly 720p by the fall of 2004.
Today, when a FOX station shows a wide-screen image it is supposedly always 480p. There have been reports of wide-screen features (not counting commercials) sometimes being 480i or of NTSC origin, but I doubt this presently occurs. Nobody is expecting much if any 720p from them this year.

Last year they had a few shows in widescreen and cancelled the best, Firefly.
I just went over there and just like last year they don't tell you what format the show is in so the only way I know of to find out is watch and you will see...

Does anyone else show TWO Fox logos on their digital 480p broadcasts? Here in Los Angeles, you get both the Fox logo and the KTTV Digital logo. Extremely distracting. Is it this way all over the country?
