Greetings from Toronto,
Bob Loveless discovered some great news for us by announcing that CBC (our national network)was going to slowly start broadcasting in HD.
I recieve my HD signal from Rogers Cable. After reading Bob's Post I noticed to my suprise and delight that 2 more HD channels TSNHD and SNETHD (Which is sportsnet)had been added to our offerring with TSN broadcasting a CFL (Canadian football league) game Sask vs MTL in HD as well as the NFL Buffalo vs Miami NFL game in HD.
I have yet to see a SNETHD broadast and have written to them for a HD shcedule. CBCHD is not yet there (it's just a matter of time) and when they go HD, CTV (the other major national network) can't be far behind.
Now to my question: Do those of you recieving your signal from Bell ExpressView also have these new channels in you HD offering?
I wrote to our venerable leader Dale Cripps to let him know about these new channels (maybe he can get some advertising revenus from them) or at least provide him with the HD schedule.
So for Canadians this means (including the soon tobe added CBC) our offerring is now CITYHD, TSNHD,and SNETHD. There is one NFL HD game scheduled from TSNHD this week and info can be had at tsn.ca.
Anyone plugged into the rumour mill please chime in.
I think this is awsome and for my personal tastes all I'm missing is The Golf Channel (comeon Arnold Palmer, please drop the hammer and make one of my favorite channels HD)

I currently have Star Choice and am having Bell ExpressVu installed today.
As you stated Bell ExpressVu has TSN-HD which broadcasts NFL and CFL games, plus a lot of Billiards!
However, one correction - as of yet only Star Choice has Sportsnet HD, which currently broadcasts all the home Blue Jay games ... in fact there are games Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week. I have seen a few of these games - SN HD does an excellent job - all HDTV cameras, including taped interviews. No SDTV up converts from this station (with the exception of their studio shots and baseball highlights from other games).
I haven't as yet heard of a start date for Hockey Night in Canada from CBC in HDTV, but as soon as I hear any rumours I will pass it along.

SportsNet belonging to Rogers Cable, of course this channel is on Rogers, but not on BEV yet. TSN belongs on the other hand to Bell (and ESPN !)
However, on BEV, you will additionally find some programming from DiscoveryCanada in HD (very few apart), since they started broadcasting in HD in early September.
CTV has also already requested authorization from the CRTC for distribution of HD content,as did the CBC. Global is also said to start in the very next months (most likely simulcats of US network shows). In fact Rogers cable's president has been quoted saying there is a good potential for Rogers offering a total of 20 HD channels (counting East-West feeds of national US networks + TMN HD and PPV HD) before the end of the year. A lot more discussion on this subject can be read on a Canadian specialized HD Forum I will not name here.
