They want to charge me $50 for install and $10 a month for rental fee. I think I would be better buying a receiver and installing it myself. Will the technology change that much in receivers in the next 1 1/2 years to make me not want to buy a receiver? Any input helpful, Thanks

The $10 is a fair price to rent a box when you consider they already charge you $8 for the non-HD digital box. You can send that back, so the difference is really $2.00 + per month.
Not a bad deal when you consider buying the box is a couple hundred dollars.
