Whats Toshiba 50hdx82 native format 720p or 1080i. I cant understand what the website is trying to say. If the native format is 720p, would shows like Jay leno look good compared to another set whose native format is 1080i.
P.S. Is this a good tv to buy to watch HD.

Toshibas are native 1080I only but will accept other signal formats or scan rates. The best image will be obtained by feeding it a 1080I/540P signal.

so on my 57h83 i should leave it on 1080i all the time, irreguardless of the source??? it also has a 540p setting..which setting SHOULD be better for DVD and or HD signal viewing??? and does it matter for non HD signals like sat. or cable???

IF the signal is coming from your STB then the STB should be set for 1080I

>>it also has a 540p setting

That will only work with non-HD sources - use 540P.
