Hi,

I am trying to get Picture in Picture to work on my Hitachi 50" in. hdtv. I have component cables from my cable box to the tv and antenna hooked up. However, I am simply unable to choose two regular cable channels as the main and PIP images. The PIP image wants to go the the TV channel and not the cable channel.

example, if i want to watch ABC on channel 4 and CNN on 45, the PIP thinks tv channel 4 and cnn channel 45.

Is this something to do with the cable box setup, tv setup or just something about HDTVs ?

Thanks

Sai

Not sure what you are trying to achieve but maybe this will help.

You cannot PIP a cable box, satellite receiver or DTV receiver unless you have two of them. Even then there are other complications.

Could he split the cable before it goes to the cable box, one cable going to the SD RF input and the other going to the cable box which is in turn connected through component cables. He would then select antenna and component inputs as his choices for PIP.

Most cable companies still maintain their analog cable signals concurrent with the digital channels don't they?

Just guessing here, but on my TV's I have to configure the antenna inputs. There are two choices: TV (OTA/broadcast) and CATV. Could be your antenna input is set wrong.
