I filled out an on-line survey from Tivo a month or so ago on what I would want in a PVR, but has anyone heard when HD PVR's are going to be available? and will they be afforable?

The D* HD tivo unit is supposed to be out early next year. It was orginally supposed to be out late this year, but was delayed. As for the affordable part, that's up to each individual, but most people think it's going to go for around 800-900 dollars.

$499 seems awfully low considering just a standard D* HD stb is more than that. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it was 799-899. Then also realize that there would be the $250 on top of that for lifetime membership (or whatever it is).
I'd like to see it sooner than later, but I doubt it's coming out soon. We would have heard about it if it was going to be for the Holiday Season.
