Did anyone notice if Channel 180 on Comcast had ANYTHING in HD last night? I called them and they didn't know anything. NYPD and a couple 30 minute sitcoms were all in std broadcast. Was it a national ABC problem, or local to my area?

Anyone? Bill, you have any info?

Thanks.

Actually, saw a similar post on AVSForum this AM - said that some of NYPD Blue was in SD. I didn't think much of it because I didn't get in until after 10:00, and watched on an old SD set anyway. The reason I didn't get in until after 10:00 PM was that I was working at the polls all day. So, what I'm guessing is that it might havehad something to do with the frequent cuts back to the station for election updates.

Just a guess mind you.

that sounds reasonable, except that the channel 10 HD feed was working, and I would assume they would have had teh same poll update considerations...

What really gets me though is the absolute primitive info that comcast offers.  The rep began to explain that not all the programming is in HD 24/7.  Yeah, no sh&t.  Go ahead and tell me how to turn my tv on and off while your at it.  I had already told him 3 times that it was regarding specific programming that is always in HD...

He tried to tell me that MNF was not in HD the other week because of a "problem with the ABC signal".  I guess he didn't know about the special camera's needed for HD, or about the fires in CA, or how the venue was relocated and the camera's were not in place...

I hate paying my bill each month knowing that some part of it goes to pay the salary of people who ultimately offer the consumer nothing.

Comcast in Phila. Area

Comcast in the Philly area has no employees who know squat about HDTV. Many calls to this company have produced a total lack of knowledge on everything and anything. Half my HD stations were out one day and a cell to Comcast produced a response that a tech visit was needed. When he came everything was back on before he arrived. When I called Comcast to cancel they said the box was defective even though all channels were on now. Needless to say he came and left without doing anything. He said not to pay the $50 bill if I got one.

NYPD Blue was in HD for at least the first half of the show, but we started having drop-outs around 10:30 or so and I switched back to SD. TWC in Charlotte.

Hi Jeff,

just as an FYI, Comcast does not charge for trouble calls.
