I am currently living in Pittsburgh, PA but am more than likely going to relo to the Rockville MD area. I am wondering what the HDTV situation is there. I currently havd D* and recieve no locals due to my location. Does anyone know what is available via cable or OTA? Thanks.

The DC/NOVA/MD is great for OTA HDTV. Baltimore and DC/VA have all their channels digital and chances are you could get both cities with a rotor in the right area.

As far as cable goes, You are probably limited to Cox or Comcast. They offer HDTV cable on both services depending which area of town you are in. If you know the exact address of where you are living go to the website, it should tell you what is available.

Good luck.

I'm in Derwood (between Rockville and Gaithersburg) using Comcast. We have: NBC (WRC), ABC (WJLA), CBS (WUSA), HBO, Showtime, INHD, INHD2, ESPN, Comcast Sports, PBS and what Fox (WTTG) passes off as HD.

Comcast, here, seems to be adding HD as fast as new channels pop up and the quality is excellent.

You'll need to sign up for Comcast's digital service, then add another $5.00 a month for their HD box. I'm getting that, packaged with their high-speed Internet service, about $100 a month. It might seem expensive, but I wouldn't live without cable Internet access and the HD quality seems to be much better than DirecTV.
