All I know from reading the AVS forums that it's release has been delayed. No one seems to know why. A lot of sites list it as a preorder. I read somewhere that it will be released at the end of December.

This box has been "coming" since sppring. No one seems to be able to find out from Toshiba or DirecTV what the delay is about.
I would assume it's NEVER coming, and buy another box. FYI -I've tried most of 'em, and here are my observations:
Hughes 86 - grainy, both on Sat and OTA,, Not very good.
Samsung 160 - decent picture, but aspect ratio is not true on 4.3 standard broadcasts - therefore, images appear stretched somewhat on non 16.9 broadcasts (95% of what you will watch).
Sony 200 - good, but too pricey
Zenith 520 - fabulous picture, both Sat and OTA - limited feauteres, no timer, etc. but - best picture out there. Period.

Thanks for the info guys...I'm still gonna wait...I already have 2 of the dst 3000's and I'm very happy with them...I just figured since I need a third I'd stick with Toshiba since all my equipment is Toshiba...(except surround sound}...plus when it does come out, I know it will be the best. I was just hoping that Santa might be able to pull it off, but, oh well, I guess I wait!
