I had a horrible experience with voom. I am telling you now don't buy it. I had tech. come out and istall it didn't work at all after trying to install for five hours. Tech advised me to return cause every install of voom he couldn't get it to work. They have an issue with finding the satellite. Called support and they would just laugh at me. Just a heads up they will be out of business in 1 year.

thanks for the heads up.
Anyone else have experiences to share?
I was pretty excited about the whole VOOM thing....
I guess I shouldn't be surprised to be disappointed again...
thank god for OTA and that I live where I can get it.

Have had Voom in my home since 11/15. Would have to suggest that your problem is with the installer, and not with Voom. Perhaps they are not pointing the dish correctly, or perhaps the satellite cannot be seen from your location. Aside from some minor software glitches(should be expected on a new start-up like this, but it is free for now!!), I am well satisfied with my purchase. Picture quality is good, and since I have been up and running, have never experienced a single outage. They appear to be dealing with the software problems as they can, but I say "cut them some slack!". They have Starz and The Movie Channel HD channels operating, and I don't think that anyone else does. As far as the complaints about personnel at their 800 number, cannot address that because I have had no such problems. I feel that given time, all will be fine with them.

VOOM IS WORKING WELL

The people signing up with VOOM now, are participating in what is, in effect, a giant national scope beta test. Programming is free until February and they offer an unconditional money back guarantee until the end of March on the box.

With this money back offer, VOOM is putting it's money "where their mouth is."

I have had the service since the first week. It certainly isn't perfect, but they are offering several HD channels (like Starz, The Movie Channel, etc) that both Dish and Direct are not offering. And more are being added.

I currently have DISH HD also, and this new "upstart" sat company named VOOM is starting to make Dish look inadequate.

The good news is that they really are working out all the bugs.

Just another little Voom tid-bit---this Don King fight extravaganza on PPV Sat. night is being offered by the other guys at $44.95 I believe. Guess what----it's free from Voom. In HD yet!

I've had VOOM for a few weeks now.

Picture quality: I also have the HD packs for Insight Cable and DirecTV. The quality of HD on VOOM is outstanding! Better than DirecTV and as good as cable. The SD picutre quality on VOOM is even better than the other 2 providers I have.

Deal: Some have said $750 is too much. I paid over $500 for my DirecTV HD box, $100 for the dish, $200 for OTA antenna/installation and didn't get a 2 year at home warranty like VOOM gives standard.

We're not paying for all the programming VOOM has or gets in the next 3 months and I can get ALL my $750 back if I cancel within the next 4 months.

I've spoke to their customer service a couple of time and have no such experience as stated above.

I hardly ever watch anything now that is not HD - I'm LIVING THE DREAM, BABY!!! GO VOOM!!!
